IF YOU ARE NEW TO MATTIME, PLEASE CONTACT MATTIME BEFORE YOU REGISTER. Welcome to MatTime's Official Kids Wrestling program. Our Intermediate Wrestling Team is for aspiring young wrestlers ages 8-10+ years. Keep in mind that we also have a Little Kids Wrestling team (5-7 yrs) as well as a Competitive Junior Wrestling Team (11-14+ yrs). MatTime has established itself as a top wrestling program in Northern California. and has helped to grow wrestling in the Sacramento area. We are no longer the beginner program in the area as we have quickly established ourselves as contenders. This year, we'll continue to operate multiple teams and you can register for our Teams below.
The Intermediate Team season will run from November through the middle of March and culminate at the Folkstyle State Championships wresting tournament that takes place March 14-16, 2025. Stay tuned for more info as we'll release a tournament schedule that we will be attending as a Team and any additional tournaments that kids/coaches may be attending that aren't on the schedule.

A few notes:
MatTime will remain a safe haven for kids in a state that, over the last few years, has been guided by fear and continues to threaten the activities, sports and overall well-being of our kids where many other states have operated normally. MatTime will not bow down to fear, mandates nor any sort of woke mentality nor allow this disease to slither its way into our program. MatTime was not built out of fear, it will not be ruled by fear and it will not be shut down by fear. Our kids are healthy and it is incredibly important that we raise them to be Good, Strong Kids. MatTime never once locked down over the last few years. There has never been any masks, vaccine requirements or insane regulations whatsoever at MatTime. MatTime remains a safe haven from the nonsense in our society and it will stay this way.
In raising kids within combat sport like Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu, we are teaching them to be comfortable in chaos, and not to be ruled by natural human fears that come from physical confrontation. Unfortunately, many adults are inadvertently teaching kids to walk in fear because they don't have the ability to understand or face their own fear. Combat sports can teach kids to stand up and face their fears directly and in turn, give them the tools to fight off fear so that it does not gain a foothold and become a force that dictates their direction, daily behavior or future.
Maintaining healthy outlets and activity for kids and sports has never been so important. The sport of wrestling and Jiu Jitsu can be unforgiving as one can quickly be humbled and physically dominated by their opponent. Through these trials we learn (quickly) to respect opponents and in this arena one's character, attitude and work ethic set them apart from others. More importantly, combat sports place everyone on equal ground regardless of race, background, economic or social status. This dynamic tends to produce young adults that learn to respect others because of internal (not external) characteristics. This is a good thing.
MatTime began its first wrestling season amidst this chaos and we wouldn't want it any other way. Join us for the next stage of this journey.
