There is a growing trend in the United States that has more and more girls wrestling at the High School and college level. Girls wrestling is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States and recently labeled as an NCAA Division I emerging sport which has significant implications for girls that would like to wrestle in college. Not only will more schools be opening wrestling programs for girls, there will be scholarship opportunities for these female wrestlers. Girls wrestling has seen the number of high school women wrestlers increase from 804 in 1994 to 21,124 as of 2019 (Source: National Wrestling Coaches Association).
As a strong supporter of Girls Wrestling MatTime is offering a class for 6-14 year olds who are interested in improving their wrestling skills. It will be a fun and relaxed environment but we'll also get some good work in.
Come join the Women's Wrestling revolution at MatTime and help these awesome young girls. Women on Wednesdays!
