Grant Gambrall recruited by the University of Iowa recruit, and was the number one ranked wrestler in the United States at 171 lbs coming out of High School Grant beat the nation's No. 1 and No. 2 ranked recruits (for Penn State and Illinois respectively) in shocking fashion which sealed the deal for the Hawkeyes.
Grant was a two-time state champion and three-time state finalist for Iowa City West High School. Gambrall also became a Junior Folkstyle National champion and a Cadet Greco-Roman National Champion. He was a Junior All-American in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
Continuing on the path he set in high school, Grant went on to become and NCAA All American and placed 3rd at the NCAA Championships his junior year. After earning a degree in Audiology, Grant found himself in California for an Internship and we were fortunate enough to bring him aboard MatTime to help out on occasion. Soon after he became involved at Del Oro high school and was hired as a full time coach. As a wrestling community we're very happy to have Grant in Loomis.
